On the evening of 5th May 2022, the Lodge initiated our latest candidate to Freemasonry, Bro. James Bashford.
It was announced during the ceremony that, after a review of our membership records, Bro. James is the 100th member of the Lodge of Happiness.
The ceremony, presided over by newly installed Master, W. Bro Howard Smith APGM, was well attended by Lodge brethren as well as a number of welcomed visitors, including two Brothers from the Provinces of Staffordshire and Norfolk.
The Working Tools were superbly delivered to Bro. James during the ceremony by Bro. Ian Young. This was the 2nd time Bro. Ian, an Entered Apprentice, has delivered the Working Tools to a candidate, and continues our Lodge tradition of involving newer Brethren into our ritual work.
Bro. Joshua Hughes, newly invested, excellently performed his duties in the ceremony for his first time on the floor in this role.
James joins us after originally making contact to Join Freemasonry over three years ago, prior to an enforced break in Masonic meetings due to Covid. He is one of the growing number of Lodge Brethren who found us after making contact through our website.
